Dr Sally Herring joined the Bionics Institute as Clinical Project Manager in 2022. She supports the conduct and implementation of clinical trials across the Institute in a research governance role.

Sally is a clinical research psychologist, completing a professional research doctorate in clinical psychology at Monash University in 2007. Her experience as a research psychologist and research manager is across the University and not-for-profit health sectors, particularly in coordinating or facilitating clinical research into new brain stimulation treatments for mental health. Sally has also worked in Central Australia as a research fellow, while serving as a member of the Central Australian Human Research Ethics Committee (CAHREC), assisting in the review of human research ethics applications for projects conducted in government, non-government, Aboriginal community-controlled health and academic sectors. Her research interests are in the development and translation of innovative, safe and effective treatments that have the power to transform the lives of those with significant health issues.
